Dr. Evy Van Nobelen, DVM, M.Sc. Vet. Med.

Lead Veterinarian
Dr. Evy van Nobelen received her Master of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Utrecht University, the Netherlands. Prior to pursuing her interest in animal sciences and the human-animal bond, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design from Oklahoma State University and worked as an architect for several years. She moved to the Yukon Territory after becoming a veterinarian. Her love of travelling and exploring brought her further down south to the Okanagan and North Vancouver. Prior to joining Cottonwood Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Van Nobelen worked as a locum and emergency veterinarian in the last couple of years which allowed her to practice and explore Vancouver Island and Northern British Columbia. Dr. Van Nobelen has a special interest in surgery, emergency medicine, feline medicine, ophthalmology, and dentistry. When she is not at work, dr. Van Nobelen enjoys knitting, cooking international dishes, growing roses, travelling, and sketching. She also has an interest in foreign languages and is fluent in Dutch and Indonesian. She has one naughty, demanding kitty named Heineken, who is a rescue from the Yukon Territory who also happens to be fluent in English and Dutch! Dr. Van Nobelen is a member of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society (VECCS), American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). She is also a certified Cat-Friendly Veterinarian.
